Color Scheme
This new-build ranch featured a large, tall-ceilinged hallway just begging for some character. To keep the hallway feeling airy and expansive, we chose a neutral palette with dramatic touches. The backdrop of the hallway is a sleek white, accented by bold black behind the wood slat features. This combination creates a striking contrast that adds depth and interest to the space.
Built-In Elements
To enhance the hallway's architecture, we introduced fun wood slat features on opposing walls. The first vignette boasts horizontal slats with a large mirror and a console table, perfect for a spot to put on shoes or drop keys. A natural drywall bump-out was transformed into a beam-like feature by wrapping it in wood stained to match the slats. The far vignette switched to vertical slats for a subtle variation, accompanied by a bench and another large mirror. These wood elements not only add texture but also guide visitors naturally deeper into the home.
Furniture
The furniture in the hallway is both functional and stylish. The console table in the first vignette provides a practical surface for everyday items, while the bench in the far vignette offers a cozy spot to sit. Both pieces were carefully selected to complement the wood slat features and maintain a cohesive look throughout the space. The addition of large mirrors helps to open up the hallway, making it feel even more expansive and inviting.
