COLORFUL PAINT SCALLOP PLAYROOM
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
Built-In Elements
We transformed this space into a colorful, inspiring playroom for two little girls, utilizing many pre-existing elements to save money. We repurposed IKEA cube shelving to create ample toy storage under the wall-mounted TV, perfectly positioned across from the cozy leather sofa. The room's color palette was set by the beautiful wool Rifle Paper Co. rug.
Furniture
The playroom accommodates various activities with thoughtfully arranged furniture. The leather sofa provides a relaxing spot for TV and movie viewing. The IKEA cube shelving offers functional toy and book storage, while a play kitchen and other large-format toys are seamlessly integrated. A curtain rod mounted from the ceiling hangs plants in front of the large windows, adding greenery without taking up play space.
Decor
To add depth and whimsy, we painted a scalloped detail along the border of the walls and introduced different shades from the rug on the doors to the bathroom, closet, and entry. Wood artwork and a mirror were also painted to add pops of fun. Large artwork from a previous home now fills the walls, creating a vibrant and cohesive look. A rectangle of green painted behind the TV and wood art, with the scalloped edge, enhances the visual interest.
