Color Scheme
This room has seen several iterations over the years we lived in the home. Initially a simple guest bedroom, it transformed into a vibrant children's room when we found out we were expecting. I sourced inspiration from a Rifle Paper Company colorful floral wool rug. The whimsical design and bold colors grounded the space beautifully while coordinating with the existing light grey wall color and charcoal drapery. I pulled endless paint samples to match nearly every hue in the rug, repurposing old wood chevron wall art and a mirror to fit the color scheme affordably.
Built-In Elements
The major upgrades to the room included a green plaid trim wall, created with several sizes and depths of trim for a true 3D effect, and built-in cabinetry that served as toy storage or a dresser. The cabinetry provided ample storage while maintaining a sleek look, and the trim wall became a stunning focal point. These elements kept the room functional and stylish, perfectly suited for a growing child.
Furniture
I added my daughter's floor bed, which was perfect for her transition from a crib. The bedding was soft and cozy, complementing the room's color palette.
